Program and Project Outcomes play a crucial role in the monitoring and evaluation of Programs and Projects within the Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening (MPGIS) and in the planning processes within the Ministry, Provincial Governments and the National Government.
Program and Project Outcomes are based on the goals and objectives of the MPGIS and provide measurable and verifiable means for assessing how each program or project is performing in terms of achieving the objectives of the MPGIS.
Furthermore, the MPGIS’s goals and objectives are themselves tied to national plans and policies as well as development strategies of the Solomon Islands Government.
Government monitors such as officers within the MPGIS’s Project Division and PGSP as well as planners such as officers within the Ministry for Development Planning and Aid Coordination rely on data related to program and project outcomes to evaluate how they are performing and to make informed decisions when planning for future programs and projects.
