Parliament has passed the 2019 budget that will deliver $3 Billion plus in spending to provide the services to the people of Solomon Islands very late yesterday after its third reading.
Prime Minister Rick Hou and his Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Sogavare said this is very credible budget after it was heavily criticised by the MPs on the floor of the parliament last week.
When he presented the budgeted the MP for East Choiseul said the 2019 budget provides and important opportunity to engaged in more constructive dialogue and debate towards improving and enriching the lives of the people of the Solomon Islands.
“This country and the resoruces it endows with is not for this generation and this government along. “It belongs to the generations that had passed on and will be inherited by the generation to come,” Mr Sogavare said.
